This Week in Downend (W/C 7th December 2020)

This week in Downend babies have been busy with Christmas crafts, they made their very own wreaths and decorated them by painting them green. They also helped to create clay decorations to hang on their tree, adding some paint and sparkle to them. The children enjoyed a Christmas circle and singing time with glow lights, examining the Christmas tree hidden within the light.

Kindergarten this week have been exploring different textures, using bubble wrap they made snowmen! During circle time the children discussed food types and what food they loved and what food they didn’t enjoy as much! Kindergarten also made some Christmas Wreaths this week painting them green and adding on lots of different materials such as snowflakes and pompoms. 

In Pre-School this week the children have also been getting into the Christmas spirit by helping to create a snowy sensory tray with lots of different resources and textures, children were able to mark make in the snow! Pre-School have been practicing their fine motor skills by stencilling Christmas pictures. They also made their own Christmas wreaths, they decorated them using red and green tissue paper and snowflakes for decoration.
