Nursery
This week Nursery have been very busy exploring the small world area! We took turns with the various different vehicles and we shared them between ourselves so we were all able to take turns. We even explored our brand new road tape and used this by pushing our cars and trucks along to reach the end!
In different areas of the room we have been exploring oral health and how we can keep our teeth healthy! We used the toothbrushes to add some toothpaste and brush the model teeth. We were asked different questions relating to oral health such as:
“Do you brush your teeth at home?”
“What colour is your toothbrush?”
“Who do you brush your teeth with?”
We spent a long period of time exploring this and even looking at the books! We looked at the pictures and lifted the different flaps to see what was hiding underneath and used great listening ears as our adults read this to us!
In the third room we have been exploring fruit cutting and fruit tasting too! This was very yummy and we enjoyed it a lot. We washed our hands first to make sure they were nice and clean and then we sat down and we were demonstrated how to use the safety knife to cut the fruit! We then use the tongs to pick the different fruits which we wanted to try! Delicious.
We have also been outside exploring the sunshine. We explored the wooded stepping stones! Some of us climbed across the top and showed how well we were able to balance whilst others decided that they wanted to climb inside and hide! We also started looking through the sun visors to see the world in a different colour.
We had so much fun this week and had lots of different activities and experiences!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten the children have had lots of fun making foam ice creams! They loved mixing all the different colours, scooping the ice cream, along with getting their hands covered in the foam.
The children have enjoyed getting to practice their throwing and catching skills while out in the garden, passing the ball back and forth to with their friends!
The children have also been busy making their own creations with playdough, they made many different creations like gingerbread men, hedgehogs and bracelets!
Pre-School
This week Pre-School split into within groups and have been looking at our emotions! We have been looking at our core book for the term 'The Colour Monster' - we spoke about all the different emotions and if it was ok to feel them. It is absolutely ok to feel all the different emotions, some are big emotions but it is the way we deal with that emotion that counts. Another group used the inside out toys to convey and share emotions. The last group drew their very own emotion monsters!
Mid-week one of the children got to organise Time Together, as they wanted to share their passion with their peers. They explained to their friends how to perform all the different ballet moves before showing them how to do it. They all joined in by making some gymnast wants which they enjoyed spinning around!
A group of children went to our library here at Red Bus, where they enjoyed a story sack, Mrs Honey's Hat! They used a soft doll which represents Mrs Honey and she had her hat on, her hat was stuck with lovely things. As they went through the story the nice things from Mrs Honey’s hat were being replaced with horrible things by different animals.
