This Week in Downend (W/C 22nd February 2021)

This week in Downend, Nursery children having been exploring ice play. The children noticed how quickly the ice melted and that they could see through the ice! Whilst outside on the rooftop garden the children have been investigating the effects that water had on their chalk pictures and also watched their bubbles blow away in the wind. 

Kindergarten this week have been very creative making and decorating their own kites, they ventured out into the windy playground to take them all on a test run. They have been learning about different musical sounds and have been learning about the difference between fast and slow songs. They were then able to get very messy creating their own carnival themed plates, using lots of different colours and textures. 

This week in Pre-School the children have enjoyed looking after the babies in the role play area and pretending to change their nappies and give them bottles. The children have also been on a shape hunt using their shape finders to look at shapes of everyday objects around the room and the decking area. The children have also had lots of fun using cardboard boxes to make tunnels to crawl through. This week the children explored their new light box and rainbow pebbles and have enjoyed using the cards to recreate different animals and towers.
