This week in Flax Bourton we started with some of us going on a visit to the outdoor sandpit to practice our digging with spades! We got so excited and jump straight in to exploring, the adults helped us to get the bucket and spade out we sat down and concentrate till our buckets were filled to the top. We were able to say words like "sand" and "pat" whilst we played.
Back in the nursery room in the musical area, the little ones have been holding a shaking the bells and holding the xylophone and using the sticks to bang to make a beautiful tune with big smiles!
We been practicing our connecting skills using the train track, holding each piece and with some encouragement and patience we are able to slot each piece together. The adults helped us to finish off, and we went on to push the train around and around saying words
like "Choo choo"!
To finish off the week in the art area we been practicing our mark making, we are able to do lines and circles over the page using a variety colours to take home to our family wall at home!
To start a very busy week in Kindergarten, we spent time exploring the decking. This is where we had first started by washing the cars, which were covered in great big paint splats. We had used the pipettes, sponges, and toothbrushes to give the vehicles a great big scrub before it went through the dryer. We had all then all worked together to build the tallest tower which we had carefully chosen from the variety of colourful blocks and carefully stuck them one on top of the other!
To continue a busy week went on a great wilderness adventure to the park. We had first started by walking down to the park, where we had noticed lots of different birds flying around us. We had then gone on in to the park, where we all had a turn on the swings, other equipment and gave one another great great big smiles. We had then continued exploring nature around us, where we would pick up all of the different leaves and try to reach on our tippy toes to see if we could reach the ones on the treeOn the way back to the nursery, we had noticed 3 great big mushrooms, and they were all different in their own special way. We had noticed that one of them had darker spots on too, and they were nearly all the same colour!
BAKEEEEE... In Kindergarten ,we had created the yummiest cupcakes! We had first started by scooping the marshmallow into our oatmeal mixture, which was very sticky! We had very carefully counted each raisin together as we added it to our mixture, and then we gave it a great big stir and carefully put it all in our bowl, adding a cherry on top for perfection!
This week in Pre-School has been a blast!
The weather has been so wet and rainy - we have been stood at the open door listening to the pitter patter sounds of the rain hitting the ground. Due to the weather being a bit glum, we stayed in and made our own pizzas!
We also have played lots of games such as the memory game and the shopping list game. This has given us all a good chance to have a great chat with our friends. Lego has been a favourite this week as lots of cars, towers, castles and many more have been created. The marble run has also been ever so popular and we have spent time building so many different routes for the marble to travel.
The sandpit has been open for Pre-School this week and holes, tracks for monster trucks, and more castles were built there! We did some bug hunting on the sandpit decking as woodlice are rather popular in that area. We then watched some fun documentaries about thunder and lightening whilst listening to the rain once again. Well done Pre-School for being so positive in such gloomy weather!
