This week in Flax Bourton, we been reading our Core Book 'Love Makes A Family' and also had lots of role play in the back room which was making cakes using variety ingredients to mix and pour into cones and bowls.
In the big garden we been cooling down by splashing and filling water from the tap. We been practicing our balancing skills with help from the adults and our older siblings which was so exciting!
In the home corner we been learning new physical skills which is lifting and carry objects which is making toast and mixing food in bowls . We liked the noise the toaster made as the bread popped up.
On the baby gym we been fascinated looking at our reflection in the mirror, we were able to spot the colour of our eyes. To finish the week we got jumpy in the tuff tray with frogs for five little speckled frogs. We had fun hopping the frogs around and feeling the different textures!
This week in Kindergarten we began the week working on our problem solving skills to complete various puzzles and educational games! We have been matching shapes within puzzles and learning their names and counting how many sides they had.
On the decking an invitation to play was set up to develop our fine motor skills. We were encouraged to carefully hold a pipe cleaner steady between fingers in one hand with cotton reel in other hand to thread pipe cleaners through hole. We were proud of when we had successfully threaded the cotton reels onto the pipe cleaner. Then counted how many we had!
In the garden explored the bikes and worked on using the pedals correctly. We explored different media such as water in the tray using funnels and jugs to explore filling emptying and using language such as more or less. In the mud kitchen we used our
imagination with the pots and pans to do some cooking. We also used some of our larger play equipment to hide and explore in, it also came in handy for a quick photo shoot!
This week in Pre-School has been super fun! Inside we have been dressing up with our new resources. We have been nurses, farmers, builders and so much more! We have absolutely loved puzzles again this week and this week we have managed to complete a giant dinosaur puzzle.
We have been learning about weighing things this week, so lots of our play and attention has been towards the scales that we have been balancing pasta on. And the water jugs!
The sandpit has been popular of course and the water play area is up and running. Outside in the garden the weather has been gorgeous! We have been on the balance and pedal bikes, obstacle courses and musical area. We have enjoyed keeping our plants lovely and healthy by giving them plenty of water on these hot days.
Water play has been a favourite this week and we even have new equipment such as ladders and clean guttering! To top the week off we have had a chilled morning in the sunshine, bubbles and music to finish! Well done Pre-School for a lovely week of learning and fun. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend!
