Nursery
This week in Nursery we have been painting in lots of different ways! We used vegetables, creating a variety of marks and shapes. We also tried using toy animals too, stamping them across the paper!
We welcomed a visitor from 'Sing & Sign' who introduced us to lots of Makaton! We listened to a story and we were proud to show our visitor the Makaton signs we knew. We enjoyed taking turns to roll the dice to pick a new song to sing, and the staff seemed to enjoy learning some new signs too!
We've also explored a rice filled tuff tray to celebrate D-Day!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we started the week with a mucky construction tray, where we had cement in a bowl which we used to fuse the bricks together!
In Pre-School's garden we loved climbing up the balancing beams and doing huge jumps off of them - we are getting much better at this. We also went 'shopping', racing our trolley around and laughing, so much fun!
In our garden, we have spent some time at our art table, enjoying making marks on big sheets of paper using paint brushes and paint, we happily posed for the camera and said "cheese!" To celebrate World Environment Day, we had a ocean tuff tray where we used fishing nets and tweezers to pick all the rubbish up, and spoke about how important it is to tidy up after ourselves. What an amazing week in Kindergarten!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we had a mindful moment, balancing our pebbles and stones! We focused well on stacking and moving them together, it was a lovely calm activity.
In the art studio we explored making artwork with straws! We tried blowing through the straws towards the paint, experimenting with going hard or gently and whether that made a difference to the patterns we created. We also made our own stained glass windows!
We also played a game inspired by the story of 'Warm Fuzzies and Cold Pricklies'. We learned how "Warm Fuzzies" represent feelings of happiness and comfort, whilst "Cold pricklies," on the other hand can represent negative emotions like sadness, or worry. We explored different situations and decided which group they belonged to!
