Nursery
This week in Nursery we have been mini-gardeners, helping the adults water the plants outside! We used the watering cans, carefully tipping them up so the water came out - what great helping!
Outside we did some chilly painting with ice paints! We held onto the sticks and moved the paints around on the paper, watching as it melted. We also showed great patience and cooperation, sharing with our friends!
Back inside we have been playing with the role play foods, and using our imaginations. We had lots of fun 'feeding' Chelsea the food and pretending to eat it ourselves- yum yum! We also used the shopping baskets, role playing going on a shopping trip and speaking on the phone!
In the art room we have been using the mega blocks and shaving foam, building great big towers! We also had lots of fun in the snug, hiding behind material and playing 'peekaboo' with our adults!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten started off wonderfully after a long bank holiday weekend!
The children had a lovely time playing in the big garden where they did great balancing on the climbing frame and had fun riding bikes.
They enjoyed water play where they made magical potions to help the dinosaurs grow bigger! Also, the children were busy with construction play and exploring the space tuff tray where they looked at different planets made out of colourful rice, how exciting!
To experience different types of textures we had a variety of materials out on the art table such as foil and pom-poms to make their own unique telescopes!! To end the week off they gave their peers lovely hugs, did their own grocery shopping, played in the mud kitchen with mud and leaves and enjoyed messy play with shaving foam and lots of paint!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we have been drawing fantastic shapes with chalk on the ground outside! As we created squares, circles and triangles we talked about the number of corners and sides each one had.
We've also been developing our number recognition this week! We used brightly coloured pom poms and our number cards, challenging ourselves to count up the correct number of pom poms to match. We did a great job of counting all the way to 10 - how amazing!
Lastly it's been a bittersweet week as we say goodbye to our oldest children as they start school. We've had lots of cuddles and smiles, and we wish you all the best of luck for the next step of your journey!
