Nursery

This week in Nursery we have been exploring the sensory possibilities of a pumpkin! Our adults had taken off the top of the pumpkin, and we were encouraged to use spoons and our hands to scoop out the flesh inside. It's full of interesting textures - squishy stringy bits, and small hard seeds!

There was more texture exploration to be had this week with some Halloween-themed sensory bags! These were attached to our big window so we could stand upright and move them around. We pushed and moved them with our fingers, noticing how the different textures moved around inside!

We've also had plenty of outdoor play in the rooftop garden. We loved the water tray, which had been filled with warm bubbly water. We used the cleaning cloths to 'wash' our toy babies!

Kindergarten

Kindergarten have had such a busy week! We started with a special visit from Alaska’s dog, Evie. We enjoyed walking around the gardens with her, stroking her soft fur, and learning how to be calm and gentle around animals. Outside we have also been keeping  warm and developing our gross motor skills by kicking balls and moving around on scooters.

Halloween is on the way and we got stuck into lots of themed activities this week! We had a tray full of magical purple water, a pumpkin sensory tray, and orange, green and black pasta to pick up and explore!

We’ve also enjoyed looking at some new puzzles, we matched three pieces together to form a puzzle with lots of everyday items! Some of us were even able to recognise some familiar letters.

Pre-School

We’ve had a lovely week in Pre-School! We have spent lots of time in the book corner, sharing stories together and discussing our favourite books.

We love being given responsibilities in Pre-School, it gives us confidence and independence! We've been watching the adults closely as they take registered and count us all, so we helped Shauni by creating our own registers on the whiteboards and ticking all the children in!

We've also spent lots of time out in the garden, exploring different ways to move on the transport vehicles. We took turns to push our friends and be pushed along too, and raced around the track being careful to avoid other people and obstacles!
