Nursery
In Nursery this week we have been matching our colours up using colourful rice, building blocks and trying to sort them into different coloured cups. We talked about the different colours we could see and it was a great sensory experience too!
We had some water play as well this week, we poured the water into the funnels and watched the water fall through the water carousel, which made it spin! There was also a lot of splashing involved!
We placed conkers in a tray with paint and paper. In pairs or independently, we tilted the tray to make the conkers move around to create marks on the paper.
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten, we played a fun fishing game! We had to try and catch the fish using the magnetic fishing rod and at the end, we counted up how many we had caught. We all took it in turns and had fun watching each other have a go!
We made an alien-inspired tuff tray this week which was linked to our core book ‘Aliens Love Underpants’ our adults made different coloured aliens using rice and we loved seeing them in the tray! We had lots of fun playing with the rice too.
In the top garden, the slide has been the main attraction this week! We’ve enjoyed taking it in turns going down the slide and climbing up the climbing frame ready for another go.
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School, we had a go at making our own bread rolls. We put on hair nets and washed our hands to get prepared! We then helped by pouring the bread mix and warm water into the mixing bowl and took it in turns to mix it up with our hands, it became really sticky! After, we rolled the dough into a ball ready to be baked in the oven.
In the top garden, we were exploring all the beautiful flowers. We created pictures with some of the flowers we picked, an adult drew out our ages onto the paper and we stuck down the flowers to make some brightly coloured artwork!
Roald Dahl day is coming up and we celebrated this by learning lots about him and reading one of his stories. The book was called ‘The Enormous Crocodile’. We then created our own crocodiles with coloured paper and used some folding techniques to make them elongate to be just like the Enormous Crocodile! We decorated them with googly eyes and a face and legs.
