Nursery
This week in Nursery we have been very busy exploring our brand new musical instruments and how they make different sounds! We explored the bongos and the cowbell the most - as these made such loud sounds. We sang songs and rocked back and forward with the different rhythms of the songs too!
We have explored an activity all about germs! We explored ways that we can wash our hands and get all the germs from our hands into the sink! We listened very well to the book “Germs Are Not for Sharing”. We then all took turns washing our hands just before we ate our lunch.
We have also received something new and exciting in our roof top garden! We explored the tires, climbing inside and pretending they were cars, aeroplanes and trucks! We took turns with climbing in and out. Some of us even found a way we can sit inside and spin around whilst sat in them!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten there has been plenty of water play to keep cool! In Water World we became mini-scientists, questioning whether different toys would float or sink in the water. We made our hypotheses and then tested them to see if we were right!
There has also been lots of fun in the front garden with the spinkler mat! We took turns to run through it, giggling as the water splashed us. What a great way to keep cool!
We've also been creative, using playdough to make different animals. We showed great knowledge and understanding of different animals and what they looked like. We made lions, mice, and even butterflies!
Pre-School
This week Pre-School we had lots of fun in the front garden enjoying the sunny weather and had a great time with water play! We ran through the sprinkler mat to help us keep cool.
In the shady lower garden we read our 'Meddy Teddy' book and practiced some yoga poses. We watched the adults closely as they demonstrated what to do, and we copied each post with focus and enthusiasm. We ended our yoga session with a calm meditation post whilst listening to the sounds of nature all around us. What a lovely, peaceful and mindful moment!
We took a trip to the top garden too, to check on our vegetable patch in this warm weather. We spotted the different kinds of vegetables, some of which we recognised and some we didn't - lettuce, kale and tomatoes! When we checked the peas we noticed some of the leaves had turned yellow, we were encouraged to feel them and observed that they were dry. We spoke about how the leaves had dried out because the plant had not had enough water, so we made sure to give all the plants a good drink before we went back down to Pre-School!
