Nursery
This week we have enjoyed painting and making prints with the mega blocks! Casey filled a palette with different coloured paints, and then she showed us how to dab the blocks into the paint and then onto the paper. We dipped the mega blocks into the paint and then created lots of different sized marks across our piece of paper!
We went down to the front garden where we had a chance to use the bikes around the tracks, we had lots of fun moving around the garden and playing with the hoops and playing catch!
We explored different wooden heuristics with the tuff tray full of Cheerios! Some of us sat inside the tray and got our hands straight into looking and exploring the different heuristics. We had fun scooping the cheerios up and putting them into the bowls.
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we listened to “Turtle in a Tangle” with our friends whilst an adult set up a recycling activity. We listened to the book and then came to the tuff tray to rescue the turtle and recycle the rubbish in the ocean. We used the fishing net and tweezers to pluck the rubbish out the ocean and we even found the turtle.
We’ve been searching for fossils and dinosaurs in the sand pit outside. We enjoyed finding the fossils that were buried in the sand. We talked about how fossils used to be animals that lived a long time ago and can be found in the ground.
We also went to the front garden where some musical instruments had been laid out on the table for us to enjoy. We made lots of different sounds with our instruments and enjoyed being very loud!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we have had lots of fun exploring a Valentine’s tuff tray. We had love hearts, pom poms, pipe cleaners, and tongs to explore. We had so much fun decorating the hearts and we discussed all the people that we love.
We were chefs this week in Pre-School! We made pizza rockets during group time after looking at the red rocket in our core book ‘The Smeds and The Smoos’. As a group, we each used tomato purée on pitta bread, cheese, mushrooms, and peppers. We also discussed how cheese is made from milk and the process it goes through to become cheese. We then talked about all the different kinds of toppings you can have on pizza, what our favourite toppings are, and what we usually have at home. One of our favourite parts was building “an engine” out of “the mushroom”!
