Nursery
This week in Coombe Dingle, we spent lots of time in the garden. An adult set up a water tray activity with lots of jugs and watering cans, we were so excited to be outside playing with the water that we got ourselves quite wet! We didn’t mind though because it was a great way to cool ourselves down. The tuff tray was a great place to dip our toes and splash water with our friends.
We have really been enjoying the baby gym and play couch this week, we’ve loved climbing and going down the slides lots. On the play couch, we climbed under and over obstacles our adults and crawled through the tunnel our adults had made us. We all took it in turns and had fun exploring with our friends.
We also explored a tray full of flour with peers. We made marks using our fingers and some vehicles! We found it funny when we made big flour clouds by clapping our hands together.
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we made some water balloons in the top garden and had a water balloon fight, we enjoyed splashing around in the water, which helped us cool down!
As part of our Core Book Approach, we read the story ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ we read the book together and got to wear character masks – “look I’m daddy bear!” Amy then made us certificates to say well done in taking part of telling the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Down in the dining room, some of us got creative with paints, we had paints poured into trays which we then dipped our paintbrushes into and started mark making on the paper. Some us used our hands to make marks and it got a little messy!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we’ve had lots of fun in the garden together! We had an activity in the front garden with water pistols, string and a cup. We had to use our fine motor skills to hold the water pistol and aim the water into the cup which was threaded through some string. We raced against each other to see who could get the cup from one end of the string to the other by firing the water into the cup to help it travel. In the sand pit, a few of us took a trip to the beach! We laid out some towels and built sand castles together, we had to make sure our babies had sun cream on as it was very sunny! We then made ice creams and came up with some unusual flavours, such as pea and carrot!
We also had a teddy bears picnic in the top garden with our very own sandwiches! We prepared our sandwich in the room before taking it with us to the garden with our teddy bears. We all sat down on a blanket and listened to Cher read us the book, afterwards we ate our sandwiches together, it was a lovely morning!
