Nursery
This week in Nursery we have been exploring ice! We found some frozen fishes in a tray - an adult poured some warm water into the tray and we watched the ice slowly melt. We also had some pipettes we could use to squeeze the water onto the ice. We had fun watching the ice melt!
Some of us went downstairs to the Cooking Station to prepare and eat our snack! We put our hair nets on and washed our hands before we sat down. An adult then helped us use a knife correctly to chop up our banana and spread butter on our bread. We also had some shape cutters to cut the bread too!
Out in the garden, we explored all the different shapes we could find outdoors. Our adults named the shapes as we found them - shape, triangle, circle - and we counted up the number of corners and sides they had!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have been getting in the Autumnal spirit with some nature painting! We used different leaves and sticks that we had collected from the garden, which all created different marks and patterns when we used them with paint.
In the garden we have been exploring the mud kitchen, where we worked together to create lots of imaginary culinary creations! We mixed up some yummy 'chocolate cakes', then decided to have a game of hide and seek!
Back inside we have been exploring the interesting texture of cloud dough! We used different cutting utensils such as rollers and stamps to create marks in the dough.
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we enjoyed making autumnal pictures, using conkers that Becky had brought in! We placed paper in a tray, added paint and conkers, and experimented with rolling them around to create a pattern!
Elsewhere in the top garden we enjoyed exploring the mud kitchen making some scrumptious meals. We even found a snail – so exciting! We remembered to use our gentle hands when handling the snail, and put him back safely on the ground afterwards.
Back inside we have been exploring mathematics and measuring! Mark showed us a tape measure, and explained what it was and how to use it. We then had a go ourselves and measuring different parts of the room - and even ourselves! We understood how some things are larger or taller than others.
