Nursery

This week in Nursery we have been very busy exploring in the extension! Our adult made some edible sand and she added lots of other sensory materials for us to explore too. She even added some dinosaurs and animals. We used the animals to stomp our way through and we were able to hear all the different sounds as we did this! Crunch, crack and pop!

In the garden we have been really enjoying the sunshine! We used our imagination skills to cook up a storm in our mud kitchen. We used our whisks to mix and we used our gravy boats to fill up the saucepans and the pots too! We also explored taking care of our babies! We made our babies a bottle and carefully fed them their milk! We even supported our adults with putting clean nappies on them too! Not forgetting to give them big cuddles.

We have also explored a frog themed tray this week. We explored the chia seeds which acted as our frogs spawn and we explored this texture by using our hands! We scooped up chia seeds and squished them through our hands. We watched as they dripped through! This was such a funny texture! We also listened as our adult started singing “Three little ducks” as she pushed the ducks around in the pond making them swim around the frogs!

Kindergarten

This week in Kindergarten the children enjoyed reading “The Shark in the Park”! They had fun making their own telescopes decorating them with lots of different colours. They liked using them to see if they could spot a shark in Kindergarten.

The children have also had fun playing the musical instruments. They tried out the different instruments playing along as we sang songs!

In the garden this week the children have had lots of fun playing with binoculars. They have used them to search for different things that are growing in the garden and also looking out for birds!

Pre-School

This week Pre-School one of our friends went to the Aerospace Museum, and they shared what they saw! Shauna showed us pictures, we talked about different parts of the aircraft and their function. After that we had a chance to make our own aeroplane! We used a paper roll as the body of the plane and we stuck on sticks as the wings. Then we carefully drew lots of windows on the cabin. We stuck pom-poms on the bottom of the plan as our adults said they could be used as wheels!

We visited the library and checked out books that had stories and others with information. We learned that books can be for fun or learning and some for both if we are lucky! We then tidied up the library by making sure that the books went on the same colour shelf as the sticker on the books.

We also made shape pictures! We were introduced to some new shapes like hexagons and pentagons, we used coloured pens to draw around the shapes.
