Nursery
Last week in Nursery, Casey went on holiday and brought back some shells for us to explore! She hid them in the sand tray and we had lots of fun digging for them and feeling the different textures.
We learnt some life skills this week by having a go at buttering bread. We scooped the butter out with a knife and attempted to spread it across the bread, it took some concentration but it was great fun!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten our tuff tray was ocean themed! We talked about the different animals we’d find in the ocean and on land – the tray was full with foam to represent the sea and cereal for the sand.
We read our core book ‘Shark in the Park’ together, after we used the story spoons to help us retell the story with our adults. We then continued to read more stories in our Book Nook!
We love to paint in Kindergarten! We chose the colours we wanted to paint with and got stuck in! We made marks on the paper with our paintbrushes and said we were going to take them home for our loved ones.
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we have been discussing the diversity of people and cultures. We listened to a book that talked about the different things people around the world like to do and how we enjoy similar things. Afterwards, we used a mirror to look our ourselves and our friends. We talked about similarities and differences and then made some people using scrap paper for sticking!
We talked about how to take care of our teeth this week, we learned about the different types of teeth we have and how to look after them. We used the mouth models and the toothbrush to show how we brush our teeth. We all said we brush our teeth once in the morning and once before bed!
We’ve also learnt about how we recycle and the importance of why we do it! Chloe showed us the different bins we have to use for different materials such as metal, plastic, glass and food waste. We had a fun game to play where we had to find the different materials we had just talked about and put it into the correct bin!
