Nursery
This week Nursery we explored some cloud dough! It was really soft, it also smelt like raspberries. We used the Easter themed tools to cut into the dough such as bunnies and chicks to get us in the mood for spring!
Outside in the garden, we had some new sun catchers to explore. They were different shapes and colours - we talked about the colours and what we could see through them, they were great fun to play peek-a-boo with too!
In our art area this week, we had some shaving foam and blue food colouring mixed in together and then an adult put the dinosaurs in it too! We found it so funny moving the dinosaurs and making marks around the table and then seeing the shaving foam stuck to their feet!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten, some of us were exploring number recognition using Numicons. We did lots of counting out loud together and with an adult to help us recognise how many holes were on each piece.
We have been spending lots of time outside and went to the front garden this week, we had footballs to throw and kick around and the bikes are always a great hit!
Throughout the week, we’ve started some Easter crafts by making our families a card. We decorated them with paint and tissue paper and we had lots of fun getting messy!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we spoke about St Patrick’s Day and what that day represented. We spoke about what things are associated with St Patrick’s Day now, such as leprechauns which in turn are associated with rainbows and pots of gold. We spoke about all these things, about how rainbows are created. We then created our own rainbow and we used the leprechaun number flash cards to get the right amount of gold!
We decorated a little plant pot with Easter stickers then filled it with soil and planted a 'Poached Egg Plant' seed in it so we can watch it grow over Easter at home!
We have been talking more about spring and how the trees/flowers will soon be blossoming. Liza set up a spring tuff tray using different materials and sensory resources. We discussed the different signs of spring before exploring all the different textures and components - it was so much fun!
