Nursery
This week in Nursery, we have been exploring the art studio - and it was very exciting! We started creating our very own snails using paper plates. The adults added different materials, paints, crayons and much more mixed media so we could create some very colourful snails.
We have also spent a large amount of time in the garden! We have been looking at different ways to splash in the soapy water. We used our feet and our hands and watched as the bubbles were created this way! We even chased the boats hoping to catch them.
Also in the garden, we have made some new friends - the Dinosaurs! Some of us played and cuddled with them, whilst others started looking and exploring the wooden heuristics with the colourful centres! We stacked and stacked until we were unable to stack anymore! We also started looking through them to see the garden in a different colour!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten, we have been busy helping to plant new greenery in the garden. We learned the names of the different tools we used while digging holes and carefully placing the plants in the soil.
We also had lots of fun playing in the sensory tray, inspired by our core book "The Lion Inside". We showed off our best lion roars and loved exploring the textures while playing with the rice.
Another highlight of the week was making our own pitta pizzas! We spread tomato sauce, then assembled the toppings, and of course, had a great time tasting the cheese and other delicious ingredients.
Pre-School
This week Pre-School, the weather was so lovely, that we went to the top garden to enjoy the sunshine - and we did some apple tasting too! We talked about how apple trees grow from a seed and then went to have a look at the apple tree in our garden. There were so many apples growing! We noticed that some were green, some were red, and some of them were still growing and slowly turning red! Since the apples on our tree aren't quite ready to eat yet, we used some apples from our room to eat instead. We loved our time in the garden!
We have also been talking about boats this week, looking at pictures of the Bristol Harbour, noticing all the different kinds of boats! We had a closer look at sailing boats and discussed the function of the sail and how we could change the direction of the boat by turning the sail. We then got a chance to make our own boats, by cutting out triangles to use as a sail and attaching them to lollipop sticks. With help from the practitioners we poked a hole in a piece of cardboard for the sail to sit in and drew some patterns on the sail and body of the boat, they all looked so unique!
We have been reading the colour monster and decorating our own monsters using paper and feathers.
