This Week at Coombe Dingle (W/C 10th May 2021)
This week in Coombe Dingle, Nursery have been exploring the tuff tray – one side was full with jelly and the other side was full with shaving foam. They had loads of fun and loved getting the shaving foam everywhere! The babies were looking after Woody and Buzz this week, taking turns to stroke them and give them cuddles. The babies were so kind and generous, posting vegetables for the guinea pigs through the bars and giggling when they ate them up! Nursery were very artistic this week, using their hands, sponges and paintbrushes to make beautiful pictures.
In Kindergarten this week, we listened to a staff member play her ukulele in the garden, and joined in singing along to our favourite songs. We then went to explore the garden with wooden beaters to find what objects could make sounds! Back inside, Kindergarten spent the week learning about animals with an animal sensory tray, which had weetabix, shaving foam, and shower gel. In the library, we took turns playing on the touch screen board, listening to the different noises animals make and giggling when we made the noises too!
In Pre-School, the theme was “Egyptians”. We then talked about Egypt and the pyramids. Then we built our own pyramids using sugar cubes. We needed 6 cubes on the bottom, then 5, then 4 and so on and decorated them with food colouring. Everyone did really well with their listening ears! During group time in the garden, Pre-School were given large paper ears to listen to the sounds in the garden. Everyone took a walk around the garden and came back to sit in a circle and tell our friends what we had heard. We then tried to copy the sounds we had heard!
