This month in Kindergarten, we've delved into one of our favourite themes: water! We've been engaging our imaginations by making sea animals swim and move. To enhance our fine motor skills while playing with water, we used spray bottles. Squeezing the trigger to spray the water required us to use our hand muscles. It was a bit challenging at first, but with persistence, we managed it and felt proud of our achievement!
As the weather warms up, some of us enjoyed a trip to the park. We took turns on different play equipment, using trial and error to navigate the larger climbing apparatus, which required balancing and jumping from one item to the next. The swings were undoubtedly our favourite, and we kept asking the adults to push us higher and higher, sometimes so high that our Welly Boots flew off!
A focus area this month has been colours. We've used various resources like coloured shape sorters and a colour matching game. We're learning the names of the colours, how to mix them to create new shades, and discovering all the different colours in our environment.
Mother's Day was this month, and we celebrated by inviting some of our female caregivers to join us in crafting activities. We got creative with sequins and glue, making pictures and decorations. We discussed the sequins' shapes and colours and talked with the adults about what our caregivers might like.
Our home corner and small world areas remain popular, and we've spent a lot of time exploring and playing in them. We've done some make-believe cooking in the kitchen, cared for baby dolls, and listened to some favourite stories. These play scenarios often extend into other areas of Kindergarten, where we can expand our imaginations, dress-up, engage in pretend play, and learn from real-life experiences alongside our friends.

This momth we headed on an adventure to Nailsea, we went on the bus! We really enjoyed sitting on the bus and watching the world go by as we drove through the town. We were able to spot lots of trees, fields, birds and even people waiting at the stops!
We also celebrated World Book Day, with all our friends dressing up as different characters of their favourite books. In the garden a few of our friends and adults put on a show for the rest of Red Bus to watch.. “ We’re going on a Bear Hunt!” except instead of bears, we had Dinosaurs. What a treat this was, we all enjoyed laughing and reading along with our friends. A few of us even helped re enact the story, by getting resources like water, mud, sticks and fake snow!
We have also explored lots of planting in the garden, we each placed a seed inside a pot, covered it over with soil and then watered them to help them grow! We've sown a mixture of beans, cabbages, peas and many many more! As we were doing the planting we read our Core Book for this term - Jack and The Beanstalk. We enjoy planting as it means we can watch our vegetables grow!
