This month in the nursery room we have been very busy! We have been getting ready for the festive period and getting ever so creative in the mean time. Throughout the month we have been making Christmassy crafts to go home to our families including cards, calendars, baubles and much more! In the art room we have been very messy playing with all different resources and textures, we enjoyed shaving foam and paint the most!
Outside in the big garden we have been practicing our walking and learning how to ride a bike independently. We have also enjoyed going onto the nursery rooftop garden and splashing in puddles getting water everywhere. One day we had a very special visit we sat round in a circle to wait and see who it is - and in came Father Christmas! We sang some Christmas songs with him, and we were very lucky to receive a present from him.
During this month, parents and family came into the nursery to celebrate Christmas crafts with us - we made different play dough shapes and fed the hungry reindeer some yummy weetabix. Our loved ones enjoyed spending time with us before sitting down and enjoying some Christmas music. To end the month we have enjoyed our construction area, especially building towers and knocking them back down!
We also want to wish all our parents and children a very merry Christmas and a very happy new year!

This month in Kindergarten we have explored different areas of learning in our tuff trays! Using loose parts and our imagination we are learning to create different play ideas and experiences that follow our interests. We have created magical lands where we have to jump from one island to another and race tracks where our cars can zoom super fast and try to win the race!
In our art area we have perfected our making skills by completing some lovely Christmas crafts with the help of the adults. We enjoyed using a dab (well, lots!) of glue, sparkles, sequins and some Christmas magic to create cards and gifts for our families.
Whilst moving around, exploring the room and playing we have taken an interest in our home corner area where we act out and play with real world items. We have mostly enjoyed learning about people who help us, and work in the world around us like a police officer and a doctor. We have also been listening and dancing to some Christmas songs to get us in the festive mood. Our favourites are 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer' and 'Jingle Bells'.
We have also been testing our problem solving skills by completing puzzles! We have to twist, turn and figure out where the pieces go and can talk about the colour, shape and size of the pieces and how they match the puzzle board. Another activity we like to help the adults do is making new playdough. We talk with the adults about the ingredients we need, how we can mix them together and the changes that are happening to get to the end product of brand new playdough.

This month has been very exciting in the lead up to Christmas! We've enjoyed lots of fun festive activities. We began the month by taking all the donations we'd collected to Southfield Church Food Bank in Nailsea. It was a memorable trip, the food bank staff were so kind and generous, allowing us to unload the donations and have a go at packing food boxes. They invited us to a sing along - played guitar and sang nursery rhymes for the children! We were so grateful to the charity for allowing us in for the morning.
We then looked forward to our Christmas Lunch, we wore festive jumpers and made special crowns to wear at the meal! We listened to Christmas party songs while we ate altogether and had a lovely time. We also enjoyed a Christmas craft morning when our families visited Pre-School! We made Christmas cards and bags of reindeer food for Rudolph and his friends. We had fun showing family our favpirote toys and where we play!
Finally we had a visit from Father Christmas. He visited us with his Elf friend and told us he'd parked his sleigh on the roof! He gave us all a present and a high five, he was lots of fun! He said he'd bringing us more presents on Christmas Day - we are really looking forward to Christmas now, after all the fun we've had at Pre-School!
