Nursery

It has been a busy month in our Nursery room, as  we have said goodbye to some of our older friends as they transition to Kindergarten! We have loved being part of their journey and wish them the best of luck on their new adventure.

We have been spending lots of time outside on the rooftop garden, as well as trips to the big garden too. We have been splashing about in the water, filling and emptying containers - what a fun way to keep cool in the warm weather!

We have been playing in Sand Land, making sandcastles with the adults. We also used the ice cream cones to scoop up the sand.

Back inside we have been exploring a dinosaur themed tray, filled with crunchy cereal. We used our toy dinosaurs to crush the cornflakes - stomp, stomp, STOMP!

We have also been having fun with dry pasta play, sitting with Helen and Chelsea. We enjoyed filling up the containers and pouring them back into the tray.

We have also been exploring puzzles, working out where each piece goes and matching up the shapes. We've learned that we can flip and rotate the pieces to make them fit! We have also been on a mini fishin trip, using the rods to catch them. Great job babies!

Kindergarten

It's been a busy month welcoming children transitioning down from Nursery! This has also meant we have said goodbye to some of our friends transitioning to Pre-School, we have loved being part of their journey and wish them all the best of luck.

To help prepare the children for their move to Pre-School, we have been encouraging the children to help us tidying up after we've finished playing. We have done an excellent job of scrubbing, sweeping and tidying away our toys. When we are helpful, we get to put our picture on the key helpers board which we are so proud to show our families at the end of the day!

We've been taking part in lots of imaginative play over the past month, this has included dressing up as builders and construction work which we've enjoyed having fun with indoors and outdoors! In the yurt, we played shopkeepers and fed our babies lots of lovely food we made in our kitchen. Another one of our favourite activities is exploring what is in our tuff trays! We've had everything this month from a juice factory, to a colour changing flour tray, from a construction site to a foam filled sensory tray! It's been lots of fun to explore different textures, feels, smells and to to use different tools such as tweezers and magnifying glasses.

We've been getting creative this month with our building, we've made super cool structures outside out of crates, planks and building blocks. It was so much fun to work together and see the different builds and obstacle courses we could come up with! We tested our ideas even more when we zoomed vehicles down gutter piping and watched them fly off! We've tested our skills even further with ball games, climbing and bikes.

Pre-School

This month we have started getting excited about starting school in September and have set up items in the role play area to help us get ready for school readiness! We have different school uniforms to try on, reading stories, tracing over numbers and taking registers

In the garden we have a plum tree with lots of plums falling! We collected them up and took turns to cut them up. Lynsey also took some home to make plum jam, we had it for snack with lovely french stick - it was yummy!

We celebrated international tiger day by colouring in tigers, making tiger masks and exploring a tiger in the tuff tray made from rice. We followed on the theme with using practising our cutting skills with cutting out different reptiles and dinosaurs!

Outside in the garden we took out paint and painted beautiful butterflies and looked at our new counting insect pictures and see how well we could count.

Our core book is the Colour Monster and so we introduced lots of positive feelings activities on the tuff tray. There was good team work in the construction area making fabulous buildings and a Noah's ark with as many animals as we could fit inside!
