Kindergarten

What a busy month it has been in Kindergarten! It has been so cold outside - brrr! Because of the chilly weather, we have spent lots of time in the garden reading books and getting creative with a variety of fun resources.

We have also enjoyed getting messy this month, especially in the sand tray, which was filled with shredded paper instead of sand. The children had so much fun throwing it into the air and exploring the different textures!

As well as making lots of different types of craft we have enjoyed being outside in the garden, although not for a long time as it started to very very cold! We’ve been on such a big adventure starting from the front garden all the way to the top! Drawing lots of pictures, playing with the mud and riding on the bikes.

Pre-School

This month in Pre-School was filled with festive fun! We acted out the nativity using the fancy dress costumes. We were all stars, participating in singing some lovely songs.

We have also been making a snow man using play dough. We first roll out two balls and then place them on top of each other. We then stick straws in the snowman as arms, and push in some googly eyes!

We enjoyed singing and playing the keyboard with our peers: pretending to be a group of choristers. Cher led the song whilst we sang along as well as counting numbers of days to Christmas. We loved singing 'FIVE GOLDEN RINGS'!

Zoe had painted Santa on the tuff tray, she had covered Santa's beard with cotton pads and we had some runny paint to drip paint onto his beard, the paint spread into the other colours and his beard was very colourful. 'It's a bit tricky to press the paint on' we said. We tried really hard and manage to do it!

We also sat down and made some reindeer food to put out for the reindeers on Christmas Eve, we spoke about what we were putting in the reindeer food, the weetabix and oats are really good for energy and the reindeers need lots of energy to fly all over the world and the seed provide vitamins and fibre. You had fun making your very own reindeer food!

We have also been discussing the weather and how winter weather could mean snow.

We folded a square piece of paper into a triangle shape and then cut shapes into the triangle with a little help from our adults.

Once we were happy with all of our shapes we carefully opened up the snowflake to see it's beautiful pattern. We also talked about the new year, we talked about how we may have seen or heard fireworks, you also learnt the meaning of a New Year's resolution!

In a tray we had a black piece of paper, we choose your colour paints and then placed two marbles in the tray which we moved around by moving the tray to make a firework display.
