Nursery

This month in Nursery we explored a sensory tray related to the book "We're Going on a Bear Hunt". We got stuck into the dry resources, using spoons to scoop and move the rice around. We also spent time exploring the sensory bottles, watching the insides float up and down!

We have been exploring our physical development on the climbing triangle! We have been very bold and confident, climbing up the rungs and manoevring over to the other side. What a great display of balance, coordination and core strength!

In the Art Studio we have been making artwork with our stamps! We understand the process of pressing the stamps into paint and then onto the paper, repeating the up and down motion to fill up our page. We also explored mixing the paint colours together!

We also explored a fruit tasting activity! There were lots of new flavours and textures to engage with. Some of us were less keen on the sour fruits like lemon or lime, but we confidently tried them all!

We also went on a lovely trip to Sea Mills park! We were able to go with some of our friends from the other rooms, who were great role models for how to get there safely and play with the different resources once we got there.

Kindergarten

This month we have been out in the garden getting messy! We have also been getting ready messy indoors - we have been foam painting, and exploring a sensory tuff tray full of different textures. We enjoyed 'feeding' the spaghetti to the toy animals!

We have been mark making with straws, learning how to gently blow across the paint to leave marks. We also had a lot of fun pretending the straws were magic wands - wow!

We have also been very creative and doing lots of gluing and sticking with the different resources.

Pre-School

This month we explored 'Recycle, Repurpose, Re-use'! We learned that the things we have in our treasure modelling area can be used again to make beautiful art. We made flowers out of straws and paper bags left over from graduation. We got to cut, rip and create - truly expressing ourselved!

We spoke about Bristol Balloon Fiesta which also happened this month. We spoke about how hot air balloons work and how they rise up off of the ground. We then created our own hot air balloon painting, we used balloons, a potato masher and large spoons to make various marks!

We have been working with our friends to make playdough. We added four scoops of flour, carefully counting them in - and then one scoop of water. We then added yellow and blue paint, and discovered that it makes green! We then gave it a big mix, adding more water and flour until it was perfect. We then used rolling pins to flatten the dough and use various cutters!

Outside in the frnot garden we played football games! We tried to dribble the ball around the cones and then kick it into the goal. sometimes the ball went to the wrong side, but brought it back to the right spot and started again. We tried really hard and you had a go in goal!

In the library we took part in an exciting game on the big screen that helped us practise our handling and moving skills! On the screen, a cheeky crab scuttled across the beach, leaving a trail of shiny shells behind. We used your finger to touch the screen, carefully chasing the trail to try and catch up with the crab. We demonstrated fantastic focus and coordination as we moved quickly and accurately across the screen. Well done for engaging so confidently and doing so well!

We also had a chance to use the interactive do a spot of drawing, using the pen to draw on the screen and choosing different colours to use, when you were finished you found the button to clear the screen for the next person.

We also enjoyed playing with the Velcro catch pad to catch a ball. We learned fast, strapping the round Velcro onto our hands, then immediately positioned into catching the ball as our peers threw the ball to us!

We also enjoyed creating own coloured monsters as well as using the paint brush to creates coloured dots on the monster: we were so proud of your accomplishment. Well done Pre-School!
