Introducing the EYFS – Summing Up

We hope you have found the last seven weeks informative! Whilst we have been sharing activity ideas and information with our families, our staff have also been learning about all the changes to the EYFS ahead of it being implemented on 1st September 2021.

The reality is that focusing on an individual area each week is quite difficult, as so much of what children do covers multiple areas of learning. In fact the areas have been intentionally designed to interconnect and link with each other!

Here is an example of one of our children playing with the toy animals in Kindergarten. You could say she’s simply playing, but in reality this activity links to every area of the EYFS!

We hope that by looking at each area in detail, you can see how everything your child does – big or small, at any age – plays a part in their development and progress.

If your child is not yet registered at Red Bus and you think you might have missed out, don’t worry! We are currently creating an abridged EYFS information pack that will be given to you when your child starts. If you are a current parent and have any further questions or comments about the EYFS, Birth to 5 Matters or any part of your child’s development please contact your child’s setting.
