Red Bus is committed to our responsibilities and requirements for safeguarding, this post is exempt from The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 as the position involves working within the close proximity of young children. The post holder will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB disclosure.

One of the underlying principles of The Children Act 1989 is that the welfare of the child is paramount at all times. As nursery staff we have a responsibility and a duty to help protect and safeguard the children at all times whilst in our care.
Children attending nursery have a right to feel safe, and staff working within the nursery have a responsibility to act promptly on any concerns they may have regarding a child’s welfare and wellbeing, working in partnership with parents and carers.

At Red Bus Nursery & Pre-School we will ensure that our service is fully inclusive in meeting the needs of all children. We recognise that children and their families come from diverse backgrounds. All families have needs and values that arise from their social and economic, ethnic and cultural or religious backgrounds.  Children grow up in diverse family structures that include two parent and single parent families; some children have two parents of the same sex. Some children have close links with extended families of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins while others may be more removed from close kin or may live with other relatives or foster carers. Some children have needs that arise from disability or impairment or may have parents that are affected by disability or impairment.

At Red Bus Nursery & Pre-School Staff and Managers can be said to have a ‘confidential relationship’ with families. It is our intention to respect the privacy of children and their parents and carers, while ensuring that they access high quality early years care and education in our setting. We aim to ensure that all parents and carers can share their information in the confidence that it will only be used to enhance the welfare of their children. There are record keeping systems in place that meet legal requirements; means of storing and sharing that information take place within the framework of the Data Protection Act and the Human Rights Act.

Our current vacancies:  

Deputy Unit Manager Kindergarten Unit

Full Time – (40 hours per week over 5 days all year round)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, bubbly and dynamic deputy manager who can support the manager in a 40 place Kindergarten. Our units are as large as some small nurseries so management experience is desirable but not essential.

Red Bus Coombe Dingle has recently undergone a refurbishment throughout the setting, to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We have a newly designed Kindergarten to stimulate children from 2-3 years and a large spacious garden.

Salary dependent upon experience

 

Practitioner Nursery Unit x 2

Full Time – (40 hours per week between the hours of 7.30-18.30 all year round)

Our Nursery Unit can have up to 36 children a day between the ages of 3 months and 2.5 years. You would be a key person to a group of children and would carry out planning, observations and assessments for this group. We are looking for a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in childcare and education.

Salary dependent upon experience

 

Practitioner Kindergarten Unit x 1

Full Time – (40 hours per week between the hours of 7.30-18.30 all year round)

Our Kindergarten Unit can have up to 40 children a day between the ages of  2-3 years. You would be a key person to a group of children and would carry out planning, observations and assessments for this group. We are looking for a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in childcare and education.

Lunch Cover – (20 hours per week between the hours of 11.00-15.00 all year round)

Nursery Administrator x 1

Full time – (40 hours per week between the hours of 9:00-18:00 all year round)

Salary – £16,744 per annum

The Nursery Administrator is responsible for supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy to maintain standards in administration, follow Red Bus procedures, communicate pleasantly with customers and prospective customers and generally to carry out all assigned administrative tasks. A good working relationship with the Manager and Deputy Manager is therefore very important and this role is an important part of the day to day running of the setting.

As the Administrator, you will be expected to have:

  • the ability to work accurately, with attention to detail
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
