Scarlett’s day
This is our vision of our day in our Pre-School, as soon as we have a real experience we will share it with you….
Scarlett has arrived at pre-school for an exciting day ahead. Scarlett’s Mummy has a long chat with Ruth the Pre-School leader and Scarlett’s key Person while she hangs her coat up and puts her picture on her peg, this show’s everyone that Scarlett is in today. Scarlett loves that she can choose to play inside or outside and this morning chooses to play in the top discovery garden with Jennie and Max. They all run off to the tunnel, Max climbs the side of it using the rope to pull himself up and Jenni whizzes down the slide, Scarlett is crawling through the tunnel. After a while Scarlett decides to go inside and finish off a model she starting making last week. Ruth helps Scarlett get her model off the shelf, Scarlett is very busy now sticking and gluing and adding really interesting items to her model.
After lunch in the dining room, Scarlett joins her group, she is in yellow group for key group time. Today they are singing songs, her favourite is ‘Sleeping Bunnies’, which Ruth lets her sing all on her own, because she knows all the words. After small group time, the children can choose to play inside or out, choose their own activity or take part in a planned activity. There is always something exciting to discover while in Pre-School!
Scarlett decides to join her friends in the block play area, where she starts to build a really tall tower. With the help of her key person they count how many blocks are in the tower, Scarlett counted all the way up to fifteen. Some of the blocks were long and thin and Scarlett compared the blocks to see which ones were the biggest. Her key person wrote all this great counting down to put in Scarlett’s special book, she also took a picture of Scarlett stood next to the tower, to show how tall it was.
It’s almost time for afternoon tea. Scarlett really likes the large sand timer, it reminds her of the one in the Wizard of Oz, the children all watch the sand travel down the timer, Scarlett knows that when all the sand is gone its the same as five minutes and all the children help to tidy up, Ruth makes it lots of fun and they sing as they tidy!
After a delicious tea in the dining room, Scarlett plays with the puppets in the book corner and reads them all a story, she is soon joined by lots of other children who have decided to read and relax on the soft comfy cushions, its not very long until Scarlett Mummy arrives to take her home, but not before Scarlett and Ruth tell Mummy all about her day
