Annabel’s Day
This is our vision of our babies day in the nursery, as soon as we have a real experience we will share it with you….
Annabel has just arrived with her Mummy, she’s only been in the nursery for 3 weeks so Mummy is still a little nervous about leaving her so stays for a little while to put her mind at rest ! Annabel isn’t really nervous, she has lots of nice things to look at and do but it’s nice to see Mummy there for a while. Annabel has a Key Person who looks after her for most of the time, her name is Katie. She’s lovely, she knows all about Annabel and it’s like being at home with Mummy, she makes her milk in just the same way at the same times and she knows when I like to have a nap.
Mummy is going home now, she will be back to pick up Annabel at the end of the day. Katie, Annabel, Sophie and Chloe are off to explore in the Sensory Room now. Wow ! Lots of colours and textures, sounds and interesting things to look at, helping the girls develop their senses, this is such fun ! Time for a game of peek-a-boo before Annabel’s morning nap. Annabel loves to snuggle down in the baby sleep room, Mummy left her favourite teddy in the cot to make her feel at home. One rendition of ‘Rock a by baby’ (Mummy told us about that!) did the trick, Annabel is off for a nap. We’ll keep a close eye on her until she is ready get back up.
Now all rested, Annabel wakes and is ready to go again ! Before lunch there’s time to explore in the treasure basket, it’s full of wonderful things, lots of different textures, look what we found today – a tin with something rattling inside it, a wooden spoon, a cuddly Octopus ! Annabel loves to spread them all around her. Off to lunch now ! Annabel’s brother Harry is in the Pre-School, she’s looking forward to seeing him in the dining room. Annabel enjoys some specially prepared weaning food as she isn’t properly eating solids yet, yum yum !
Annabel joins her friends again, they’re off outside into the roof garden, an area designated to the under 2’s only. Here she gets to mix with some of the other children. Annabel enjoys one of her favourite activities, lots of stretching and reaching to catch the bubbles Katie is blowing. Everyone is getting involved now and the bubbles are flying away into the sky.
Annabel likes to have another little nap in the afternoon settles her down with her usual routine and off she goes. Annabel has her milk next so Katie goes off to prepare it and they snuggle down into a comfy chair. What will Annabel do next ? Another favourite past time of the children is painting. It doesn’t matter how young the children are, they can get involved. Everyone gets together to do some painting and Katie puts paint on Annabel’s feet to make footprints all over her paper in different colours, Mummy will like to see that ! Once we’re all cleaned up there isn’t much time left now, Annabel happily snuggles up with Katie and explores some soft baby books. Annabel’s Mummy arrives to pick her up and has a good chat to Katie before they go and Mummy takes my diary home to read about my day.
