This Week in Downend (W/C 25th March 2019)

This week in Downend, Nursery have been busy learning about planting. The children found a tuff-tray filled with soil and veg, the children scooped up the soil to cover the potatoes and carrots and gave them a drink with their watering cans. Outside some babies enjoyed a shaving foam activity, feeling the cold and soft texture with their hands and making marks using cars and trucks. The children also found some large cardboard boxes in the room this week, so enjoyed hiding in the boxes and shouting peek-a-boo, what great fun!

In Kindergarten this week we have been taking full advantage of the beautiful weather, and have spent lots of time outdoors! The children built their own obstacle course out of spare parts and bravely took on the course by themselves! Some children decided that if they had some chalk, they had a very large surface to get creative with, so coloured the tarmac in lots of different coloured mark making. They have also continued with their interest in babies, and this week spent time putting the babies in bed making sure they are cosy and warm.

This week in Pre-School the children have been continuing with their Yoga, and have been practising poses such as ‘Tree’ and ‘Flower’ – super relaxing! Pre-School also had lots of fun in the sun on the bikes and cars, as well as playing ring games such as duck, duck, goose! Back inside some of the children decided to complete the alphabet puzzle while sounding all of the letters out!
