This Week in Downend (W/C 24th August 2020)

This week in Downend, babies have been putting their art skills to the test! They have been learning how to hold drawing and painting utensils, using their palm and pincer grip to mark make. Some of the children used stamps to create their colourful pictures, creating trees, cars and animals.

Kindergarten have been busy with a variety of different activities this week! They began their week getting ready to say goodbye to some of their friends who are starting new adventures in Pre-School. Some children have been practising teeth brushing skills with giant teeth – making sure the teeth were gleaming white once they had finished! Kindergarten has been full of musicians this week – the children have been making lots of noise using the instruments.

This week Pre-School children have been expanding on their literacy skills by practising letters and sounds using a pictures and word matching game. Outside the children built an obstacle course around the decking using the wooden planks, practising their team work and balancing skills! Back inside some children decided to get creative with messy play whilst others have been creating with wooden blocks – they built the inside of a bus! wow!
