This Week in Downend (W/C 17th August 2020)
This week in Downend, Nursery have been busy exploring sensory play. They have been creating very loud musical sounds whilst banging drums, shaking rattles and ringing bells. Some babies have been using the picture flash cards and song cards to use for group singing during musical time. They have also been using their problem solving skills this week to match together puzzles of farm objects and animals – great work!
In Kindergarten this week they have been on many different adventures. In the construction area they created their very own ROBOT using cardboard tubes and plastic cones. Some children decided to go on a bug hunt in the garden, they found worms, woodlice, ants and even SPIDERS! Once they finished their hunt they found an animal book where they matched the top half to the bottom half of the animals.
This week in Pre-School they have been spending a lot of time outdoors. On the wet days they have been having lots of fun splashing and jumping in the puddles and on the warmer days they have been trying to POP the bubbles from the bubble machine. Back inside Pre-School received a special delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables, the children helped cut into the fruit and veg and spoke about the smell, texture and colours!
