This Week in Coombe Dingle (W/C 7th September 2020)
This week at Coombe Dingle the babies have been exploring a farmyard tray. The children used their hands to mix through the dry Weetabix, and some children even named all the animals they could find! In the art studio this week the babies have been discovering stamps and how to press them onto paper to makes lots of different marks and shapes. Nursery have also been exploring different sensory bags, filled with lots of different things like paint, glitter, sequins and feathers! The children squished the bags and watched how the different resources moved around.
This week Kindergarten enjoyed a Forest School session in the top garden! The children sat with Judi to learn all about different mini-beasts, and where we might find them. The children then went on a hunt around the garden to see what they could find, and learned how to spot the different kinds of bugs and insects. Back indoors some children have been exploring the 2D and 3D shapes. Some children chose to stack them high, or line them up into long chains. Some children used pens and paper to trace around the different shapes too!
Pre-School have been exploring the traffic signs in the garden this week. The children learned what the different signs mean – Red for Stop, Green for Go! Pre-School then practiced using the signs as their friends cycled around on their scooters. The children have also been talking about the changing weather, looking for signs of Autumn in the garden. They found lots of different twigs and leaves, and brought them inside to the art studio to make lots of interesting artwork with them!
