This Week in Coombe Dingle (W/C 17th August 2020)
This week at Coombe Dingle, the babies became builders! The children role played with high viz jackets and hard hats, using hammers and screwdrivers to role play and creating big constructions with the wooden blocks. Out in the summer sunshine some children explored water balloons, feeling the new and different textures and even making some of them POP!
Kindergarten this week have also been exploring construction toys, playing with the stickle bricks. The children discovered how the different shapes can stick together, and created lots of different objects – even making a really long road! In the art studio Kindergarten have been painting using 3D shapes, choosing which colour to dip them in and looking at what different marks they leave on the paper!
This week Pre-School made a magical potion… The children chose which different colours to add to the ‘cauldron’, and watched how stirring them together could even create brand new colours! Pre-School have also been learning about their senses this week, with an activity that used all five! Some children explored strawberry and mint flavoured water, whilst some used their hands to feel different hidden objects and described the different textures they could feel.
