This Week in Coombe Dingle (W/C 15th April 2019)
This week in Coombe Dingle, Nursery had a special visitor – Nala the rabbit! The babies played in the rooftop garden with Nala, and she helped them with their Easter Egg trail…the children hunted high and low to find all the eggs, where are they hiding?! Back indoors the children also explored a tray of shredded paper, dotted with more Easter themed treats. In the art studio, some children participated in some really messy play – painting a cardboard box with lots of different pastel colours!
Kindergarten this week have been developing their senses, exploring a tray full of different textures and toys – but blindfolded! Without seeing, the children used their hands to discover all the objects hidden in the foam, and tried to describe all the things they could feel! Kindergarten have also been engaged in role play this week, looking after the toy babies. The children have been feeding them, changing them, and even wiping their faces after tea! Some children also chose to decorate biscuits this week, using beautiful yellow icing, sprinkles and marshmallows to create a delicious Easter themed treat!
This week all of the rooms had a new ‘Emotions Board’ – the boards had lots of different bears who feel lots of different emotions. In Pre-School the children explored the different bears, and at circle time talked about how we all feel, and what can make us feel that way! In the art studio some children have been creating lots of amazing artwork using the easels, making a huge variety of marks and then describing what they have drawn. At the cooking station this week the children made – what else – chocolate nests! The children helped stir the chocolate mixture, and decorated the ‘nests’ with chocolate eggs!
