Nursery

This week in Nursery we have been helping our friends and playing together! Outside in the big garden we explored the balancing beams, holding our adults hands for support if we needed it.

Back inside we have been playing with soil and wriggly worms! We enjoyed repeating the process of filling up our pots with soil and emptying them back out.

We've also had lots of fun with the shredded colourful paper in the tray! In the art room we have been making magical potions, filling emptying the jugs - splish splash!

Pre-School

This week in Pre-School we have been getting stuck into lots of activities relating to our Core Book - The Very Hungry Caterpillar! We've been getting to know the story of how the caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. We've learned about the life cycle of butterflies, and painted our own in the dining room! Our adults showed us that by painting one half of the paper and then folding it in half we could create a symmetrical pattern on the other side - wow!

We also spent time talking about similarities and differences.  First we looked at ourselves in the mirror and noticed we all had two eyes, two years, a nose and a mouth! We also observed that our hair, eyes and skin can be different colours too. Someone also suggested that we are different heights, so we spent some time measuring how tall we all were!

We also took a trip to the local library this week. We loved picking out some books to read, and exploring the activities they had for children. On the way back we also met a police officer! She was very friendly, and stopped to say hello and answer some of our questions.
