Nursery
This week in Nursery we took a trip to the seaside! We explored an invitation to play filled with coloured squishy foam, sand, and sea creatures. We used our hands to experience all the different textures, particularly enjoying the funky pasta shapes that were used as seashells! We noticed we could push them through the sand and foam and that would leave a mark - wow!
We've been challenging our dexterity and coordination with our split tray this week! We used the long handled spoons to see if we could scoop up the balls that were floating in the bubbly water. This was a great challenge but we also quite enjoyed using the spoons to create big splashes too!
We've also had lots of fun out in the rooftop garden this week. We really enjoyed the boomwhackers, creating a variety of sounds by tapping them against different objects!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have been talking all about Easter! We made some Easter cards using potatoes, using the halved vegetable as a stamp to create an egg shape on our page. Our adults stuck a fork into the potato so we had a handle to lift them up and down!
We've been getting musical this week in Kindergarten as we explored the instruments. We tried out the tambourines, xylophones, and shakers and were challenged to follow the pattern of a rhythm. We used our listening ears and did a great job!
Out in the garden we've spent time in our outdoor reading nook. We settled into the beanbags to share our favourite stories with our peers and adults!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we have been talking about Spring, and how the seasons change! This inspired us to make our own trees. We used feathers and pom-poms as our brushes, which we used to make flower and leaf shapes on our tree.
We also had a go at practicing writing our names! We looked at how to hold a pencil using the tripod grip near the tip, and wrote our name following the dots. Then we had a go at copying the name from our drawer!
Down in the dining room we've been getting creative with music! Liza put some instruments in a bag, we all had a turn at picking out an instrument and playing it whilst singing some of our favourite songs!
